5 Holistic Apps That I Love

5 Holistic Wellness Apps I’m Obsessed With...

Because sometimes your phone should help your nervous system, not fry it.

Let’s be real: most of us are often on our phones. Like… “accidentally lost 45 minutes scrolling when I was just trying to check the weather” a lot. But what if we flipped the script and used our phones to support our well-being instead of sabotaging it?

I’ve tried a lot of wellness apps—some amazing, some I deleted after two minutes—but a few gems have stood out. These five holistic apps are ones I actually use, love, and recommend to clients and friends alike. They make wellness feel more accessible, fun, and, dare I say, a little addictive (but in a good way, I promise).

For when you're standing in the grocery aisle like “Wait, is this shampoo trying to poison me?”

Yuka is my ride-or-die when it comes to decoding labels. You just scan the barcode on food or personal care products, and it instantly gives you a score based on health impacts. It breaks down ingredients, explains why something might be sketchy, and even suggests better alternatives.

I love how empowering it feels to know exactly what I’m putting on and in my body—without needing a degree in chemistry. Plus, it's super satisfying to scan something and get that big green “Excellent” score. (Basically the adult version of a gold star.)

Because your nervous system deserves better than 5-minute YouTube meditations with surprise ads.

This one’s been a game-changer for my mindfulness practice. Insight Timer is a free app with thousands (yes, thousands) of guided meditations, music tracks, and breathwork sessions from teachers worldwide. You can search by theme—stress, sleep, confidence, you name it—and there’s something for every mood and schedule.

I also love the timer feature if you’re doing your own silent meditation and want a peaceful bell instead of your phone’s default nuclear meltdown alarm.

3. Clue (for women's cycle)

Not just a period tracker—an actual cycle awareness tool that makes you feel like a hormone whisperer.

I know there are a million cycle tracking apps out there, but Clue is my fave because it’s science-based, non-judgy, and actually helps me understand my body’s patterns. It doesn’t make me feel like I’m planning my life around an ominous red dot—it's more about syncing with your natural rhythms, tracking symptoms, moods, energy, cravings (hello chocolate), and spotting patterns.

Bonus: it’s gender-inclusive and doesn’t assume anything about how you identify, which I really appreciate.

For when you want your phone to spill tea about your soul.

Okay, this one’s for the astrology lovers—or just the curious. The Pattern digs into your emotional and relationship patterns with a level of accuracy that’s both spooky and comforting. It’s like having a therapist and an astrologer team up to write you personalized life advice... but make it free and in app form.

I use it to better understand my own cycles (hello, cosmic timing), check compatibility with others (yes, even potential dates), and reflect on why I might be feeling a certain way. It’s astrology with depth, minus the fluff.

When you need a no-BS workout app that doesn’t talk to you like a drill sergeant.

Nike Training Club is surprisingly holistic for a big brand. It’s packed with workouts—from strength and cardio to mobility and yoga—and you can sort them by time, intensity, and equipment (or lack thereof, shoutout to bodyweight workouts). They even have mindfulness sessions, mobility work, and recovery tips.

I love using it when I want to move but don’t feel like creating my own routine. Just press play, follow along, and feel smug for getting your sweat on in 20 minutes flat.

Bonus App: ChatGPT

Think of ChatGPT as your always-on-hand wellness buddy (who never judges your midnight snack choices). Whether you're looking for meal ideas that support your hormones, journal prompts for self-reflection, quick stress-busting breathwork routines, or help planning your next wellness retreat—ChatGPT’s got you.

You can ask it anything from “What are some natural ways to support my nervous system?” to “Can you help me write a gratitude affirmation that doesn’t sound cheesy?” It’s like having a coach, nutritionist, copywriter, and supportive bestie in one AI-powered package.

So yes, phones can be a little chaotic. But they can also be a tool for healing, awareness, and connection. These apps have helped me feel more informed, intentional, and in tune with myself. Try one or two and see which vibes with your lifestyle. There is no pressure to overhaul your routine—just think of these as little digital sidekicks on your wellness journey.

And if you end up scanning your entire fridge with Yuka... I’ve been there. Welcome to the club.
