“Wait… Did I Pee a Little?”Why Pelvic Floor Leaks Are More Common Than You Think (and What You Can Do About It)

Let’s get real for a second. Have you ever laughed too hard, sneezed unexpectedly, or jumped during a workout… and felt a little leak?

You’re not alone. I haven’t had kids, and I was shocked this was happening to me…

So apparently — this doesn’t just happen to women who’ve had kids. It started to impact my life. I couldn't jump on a trampoline with my nephews anymore, I had to stop and seriously concentrate when I was about to sneeze…

I used to think pelvic floor weakness was only something moms dealt with. But here I was, in my 30s, no kids, and still experiencing stress incontinence — that’s the official term for “a little pee comes out when I do something high-impact.”

As I mentioned above, for me, it started when I was jumping on a trampoline with my nephews. I said it aloud, and my nephews thought it was hilarious!! I ignored it at first, thinking it was ‘normal’ or something I just had to live with as I was getting older. BUT as someone who works in the wellness and fitness space, I knew better: this was my body asking for support, not shame.

So, I started to dig deep: What Causes Pelvic Floor Dysfunction? Even If You Haven’t Had Kids?

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that supports your bladder, uterus, and bowels. It works with your deep core to manage pressure, posture, and movement.

But like any other muscle group, it can get tight, weak, or uncoordinated — especially if you:

  • Do lots of high-impact workouts like running or jumping

  • Hold your breath during exercise or strain

  • Sit a lot (hello desk life!)

  • Don’t properly engage your core during movement

In my case? Years of impact- Seven 1/2 marathons, heavy lifting exercise, and not enough pelvic floor and core balance.

The Turning Point

Once I realized what was going on, I got curious instead of frustrated. I turned to Pilates — not just random crunches or kegels, but true core integration, breathwork, and pelvic alignment.

Naturally, I wanted to really understand it, so I registered for the best Pilates Training - Classic

Mat Pilates, based on the original 12 exercises Joseph Pilates taught at his New York studio in the early 1900s, called Contrology.

Within a few months, I noticed a huge shift:

  • No more leaks when I jumped

  • Better posture

  • A combination of breathwork + movement regulating my nervous system, allowing me to feel energized in a calm state (not in a pumped up way of high to crash)

  • A stronger sense of control and connection to my body - which you know I love.

When I was taking my Mat Pilates Course, I was in awe, as the fundamentals aligned with my whole-body philosophy of slow, controlled movement and breathwork. I was like “OMG this is my Jam!!!” Not to mention the majority of the movements I was already using in my classes, sessions, and own personal workouts. It was an incredible experience that deepened my knowledge of

Pilates.

Classic Mat Pilates pairs precise, controlled movements with intentional breathwork to oxygenate the body, release tension, and stimulate internal cleansing. Each inhale and exhale guides the flow of the exercises, helping you engage your core, lengthen the spine, and restore optimal alignment—resulting in improved posture, balanced muscles, and an energized, refreshed body.

Once I felt fully immersed, I began filming

my Progressive Pilates Program. It took me 3 months to film - I loved every moment of it. Then get ready for this one…

I was at my brother’s house, my nephews asked me to come jump on the trampoline, without even thinking, I hopped on, grabbing my phone to capture the moment of fun with nephews, and they said “ Aunty Jenny is going to pee” and guess what - I DIDN’T PEE!!!!!!! Here is the video…

Now here comes the point in the story where I mention - I share some of these raw moments to inspire, serve and help others who are also in the same boat.

Join this Progressive Pilates Program and start taking action against this urination issue. It’s not something we have to ‘deal with.’ It’s very easy to heal, but it will take a little work, and I’m here to hold your hand.

Want Support?

I created a Pilates-based program specifically designed to reconnect you with your core and pelvic floor. Whether you’re postpartum, high-impact active (like I was), or just ready to stop crossing your legs every time you sneeze — I’d love to support you.
